Website Development

ByteSpeed Website revamp: Shortly after starting work at ByteSpeed I started to help with reworking ByteSpeed’s website. This new website was launched in January 2021 and requires consistent updating.

Writing

As communications specialist for MSUM Student Life, I developed the tone for a new program we rolled out the year I worked there called Pathways. Since most of the copy I wrote for that is only available to students, I had to settle for a screenshot.

Pathways FAQ Blog: Along with Pathways, I wrote a blog post answering the most common questions students had about it. This was an informational blog, but it was students were still the target audience.

5 Reasons you would make a great student leader: With this blog post, I was promoting student leader applications. In particular, I was targeting students who might not know their leadership potential.

6 Study tips for finals: This blog post shows my ability to write more educational content, while also showing my consistent tone. As the semester had neared the end, I wanted to make sure that we had a blog post about studying.

Social Media

In 2021 I focused on growing ByteSpeed’s LinkedIn following. The dark blue line is our main account’s growth.
This graph shows the progress MSUM Student Life’s Instagram made while I worked with it. I started managing the account in August, and even after welcome week the average engagements increased.

On Your Own Time Pathways promo: Above is a slideshow of social media content that the Creative Communications Specialist and I worked on together. I wrote the copy and she color-coordinated each graphic to a certain Pathway. For example, the purple graphic was for the Equity and Inclusion Pathway. This campaign was created to promote Pathway items you can do from home while isolated. Completing Pathway Items also entered students into a drawing. More context was given in the caption on social media.

Event Planning

If The Dress Fits: In my PRSSA events coordinator position, I focused on planning the If The Dress Fits prom dress giveaway event. I lead the planning team for this event. Our priority was to get enough volunteers, which we did successfully. Along with that, we gave away over 100 prom dresses.

PRSSA Meetings: I assisted in planning weekly meetings with the PRSSA executive board. My role was to email our speakers and communicate with them the plan for the meeting. With COVID-19, this role became more important as I had to communicate the change to meetings over Zoom with our speakers.

PRSSA Path to Profession: I was on the planning team for this large event PRSSA was putting on. Due to COVID-19, we had to reschedule. Even though us seniors don’t get to experience the event, we successfully put together all the resources needed to make the following executive board comfortable with taking over the event. While on this team, I also wrote up the speaker bios and the copy for our pamphlet.

Student Leadership Awards Ceremony: As the Student Life Communications Specialist, I helped promote the Student Leadership Awards Ceremony as it went online. Some of my duties included promoting the event on social media, writing blog posts regarding the event, assist with writing the script, and going through the nominations.
